TRIP HIGHLIGHTS

• Flexible Reef Itinerary: We select the best sites based on conditions, including Bait Reef, Black Reef, Kennedy Reef, Elizabeth Reef, Seagull Reef, Trigger Reef, Knuckle Reef, and, when suitable, inner islands such as Hook, Border, and Whitsunday Island.

• Outer Reef Adventures: Dive or snorkel world-class coral reef systems.

• Whitehaven Beach: Visit Hill Inlet Lookout and the famous silica sands.

• Night Diving: Certified divers can explore the reef after dark (conditions permitting).

• Activities for All: Snorkelling, paddleboarding, beach time, bushwalking, lookout hikes, and relaxation.

• Chef-Prepared Cuisine: Fresh meals, morning/afternoon tea, and desserts daily.

 

DAY 1 ::: Departure & Inner Islands

After boarding in Airlie Beach, settle into your cabin, meet the crew, and begin your Whitsunday adventure.

Depending on weather, Summer Jo heads to one of the sheltered bays around Hook Island or Whitsunday Island, ideal for swimming, snorkelling, paddleboarding, or relaxing onboard.

For Dive Students

• Begin or review your e-learning with your instructor.

• Students who have completed e-learning may begin theory review.

• Intro students are briefed on the following days’ in-water activities.

 

Enjoy a chef-prepared dinner and a peaceful first night at anchor.

 

DAY 2 ::: Full Outer Reef Day

Weather permitting, Summer Jo departs early for one of the Whitsundays’ premium Outer Reef systems, such as:

• Bait Reef Lagoon

• Black Reef

• Kennedy Reef

• Elizabeth Reef

• Seagull Reef

• Trigger Reef

• Knuckle Reef

 

If conditions restrict travel offshore, the vessel may stay at Bait Reef only for the day, or complete a combination of inner island + reef sessions for best visibility and comfort.

Activities Throughout the Day

• Multiple certified dives, introductory dives, and snorkel sessions

• Morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea

• Relaxation between dives on the spacious decks

 

For Dive Courses

• Open Water: Confined water dives 1–4, followed by first open water dives

• Advanced: Deep, navigation, and elective adventure dives

• Discover Scuba: Intro dives with instructor

• Certified Divers: Up to 4–5 dives, including walls, bommies, swim-throughs

 

Evening

A chef-prepared dinner is served at anchor. Certified divers may join a night dive (conditions permitting).
Guests unwind under the stars.

 

DAY 3 ::: Outer Reef + Islands Combination

Depending on visibility, tides, and wind, the morning may continue at the Outer Reef or transition toward the inner islands for a varied day of underwater and island-based activities.

Activities

• Open Water course dives (remaining qualifying dives)

• Certified & intro dive sessions

• Guided snorkelling

• Stand-up paddleboarding

• Scenic lookout hikes (e.g., Border Island or Whitsunday peaks)

• Beach games and relaxation

 

A second night dive may be offered for certified divers after dinner.

DAY 4 ::: Whitehaven Beach & Return

Summer Jo heads to Tongue Bay or a nearby anchorage to access:

• Whitehaven Beach

• Hill Inlet Lookout (guided walk)

 

Guests spend time enjoying the white silica sands before returning to the vessel for the cruise back toward Airlie Beach.

Relax on deck, enjoy a final lunch, and take in the scenery as the trip winds down.

Upon return to port, farewell the crew and your new friends.
