Whitsunday Expeditions is a family-owned adventure company based in Airlie Beach, created by locals Jo and Daniel Lippiatt to share the magic of the Great Barrier Reef and Whitsunday Islands with the world.
SV Summer Jo is a family-owned Whitsunday liveaboard offering unforgettable multi-day adventures throughout the Whitsunday Islands and the Great Barrier Reef. Based in Airlie Beach, we specialise in Great Barrier Reef diving, Whitsunday dive charters, and immersive ocean experiences that connect our guests with some of the most iconic marine environments in Australia.
Named after our firstborn daughter, Summer, SV Summer Jo reflects our family’s lifelong passion for boating, sailing, and exploring the Great Barrier Reef. With four kids and a life built around the water, our vessel is not just a charter boat — it’s a floating home away from home and the heart of our Whitsunday Islands liveaboard diving lifestyle.

Daniel and Jo bring a completely hands-on, personalised approach to every charter. They are a true family-run Airlie Beach liveaboard, and their involvement ensures every guest receives a warm, safe, and expert-led experience.
Daniel is the vessel’s Master and a highly qualified PADI & SSI Dive Instructor, specialising in Great Barrier Reef dive courses, introductory diving, certified diving, and multi-day Whitsunday dive trips. His extensive knowledge of reef sites across the Whitsunday Islands and outer Great Barrier Reef guarantees diverse, exciting, and memorable dives for all levels.
Jo manages guest experience, logistics, and onboard comfort, ensuring every liveaboard diving trip is seamless and welcoming. From snorkelling adventures to multi-day Great Barrier Reef expeditions, we run every trip with genuine care and passion.
